Cabinet solutions are a natural progression. Cabinets are themselves solutions, but solutions often bring complications and additional problems of their own. Cabinets have been around for a long time, but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been new innovations in cabinet solutions. There are many new exciting ways that cabinets can enhance your home in 2020.
New Cabinet Solutions and Innovations
Power solutions - It seems like every new gadget that comes out means there’s something else to charge. More than ever before, we are constantly looking for places to plug in and charge our devices. A brick sticking out of a wall outlet with a messy cord lying all over your counter is not the most attractive sight. Fortunately, cabinet solutions have evolved to accommodate these needs. Wireless charging has grown in popularity over the last few years. As it has become more reliable and versatile, it can be integrated into your cabinets and countertops. Imagine if all you had to do was set your phone down on a flush surface to charge it.
Security - Want to keep that liquor cabinet locked away from your kids or an unruly family member? Maybe you have fine china that has been a family heirloom. You want to display it, perhaps with a nice glass-faced cabinet, but you don’t want anyone to mistakenly use them as regular dishes. You can have discrete remote locks installed in your cabinets that respond to your smartphone.

Storage - All that stuff is great, but a cabinet is no good if it doesn’t accomplish its primary objective, to provide storage. Storage has not been forgotten in cabinet innovation. There are many new, creative solutions to make sure you are getting maximum utility with minimum headache. Perhaps instead of having a cluttered spice cabinet, you could put them in a slender rack that slides discreetly into your cabinets. What about those lids? Lids can often be a challenge to store in a normal cabinet or shelf. You can get specialized drawers that are designed exclusively for pots and pans. If you have a storage/organization problem, there’s probably a solution out there.
